Checks and Imbalances

6-29-2012

What am I on crazy pills? This whole Supreme Court fiasco has left me shaking my head and wondering what Country I am living in because it sure doesn't look like the U.S.A anymore. When the Supreme Court of the United States is threatened prior to a ruling on a key piece of legislation by the President of the United States himself and then that same Court in fact buckles under the weight of that political pressure, " to uphold the image of the Court" as Chief Justice Roberts so eloquently opined yesterday after his incomprehensible reasoning for allowing the Obamacare mandate to stand yesterday, than I dare say that the entire liberty of our political system is at stake. It is beyond belief that Chief Justice Roberts, a " conservative " judge who was appointed by President Bush allowed this mandate to stand on an argument so far out of left field that the Obama administration never even spent barely a moment trying to argue that point at all in the previous trials leading up to this Suprem Court decision. In the irony of all ironies, by calling Obamacare a tax, he single-handedly allowed the largest tax increase in the history of the United States to be passed onto the people and left the door wide open for the Government in the future to levy taxes against us for anything they say we must do, but we don't want to do. That sure doesn't sound like DEMOCRACY to me, but rather some type of quasi-socialism with a Marxist bent. John Roberts is the biggest turncoat in American History since Benedict Arnold and should immediately resign his position, not so much because of the decision he made, which was a  poor one at best, but because he allowed himself to be politicized, which is strictly taboo for a Supreme Court Justice with a lifetime job that is not subject to voter elections. He was apparently intimidated by the potential fall-out of what the far left wing media and their angry throngs would have cast upon the Supreme Court if he would have voted with his moral imperative. They would have called the court racist, facist, ignorant. How dare they question the authority of their anointed one himself . But in the end, they did something much worse. The Court sold its soul for the right to avoid the scathing scrutiny from the radical left. How sad that this country has become so polarized that we can no longer even count on the high court to be immune from the politics that are threatening to destroy us from the inside, just as Thomas Jefferson warned. Is this the path that people in this country want? To have the Government telling us how to best run our lives? Everything the Government ever touches is either bankrupt or soon to be bankrupt. Do people really believe they can manage a program like health care that encompasses about 1/6 of the American Economy when they can't even keep the Postal Service solvent? Has anyone bothered to check the fiscal state of Social Security or Medicare or any other Entitlement program? Doesn't exactly inspire confidence.I guess the perfect storm of a media who has lost all ability to impartially report the news, instead of creating news by inciting people with inflammatory reporting and rhetoric, a fearful country where unemployment is at real rate of around 20% counting those who have stopped looking for work altogether, and a country who continues to turn their back on the God Almighty who had so richly blessed this Nation because of our professed dependence upon Him for our sovereignty, and you get a country who has lost a sense of its values.WE ARE A NATION THAT IS FALLING INTO THE PIT THAT WE HAVE DUG FOR OURSELVES. The moral compass of this country has been hijacked by those with an agenda that is not entirely clear, except to create upheaval and over turn the principles of our DEMOCRACY that has been the keeper of our once great country for its first 232 years. A house divided cannot stand, and we are no longer one country, indivisible under God, but rather a country divided by race, by religion, by political affiliation, by socioeconomic status. By almost anything you can think of really. Perpetuated by the President himself. How crazy is that? The man who campaigned as a uniter is the greatest divider this country has ever seen. He always is looking out for situations to drive a racial wedge or a socio-economic wedge into our country's heart. It is always us vs them, never we the people. He is the worst example of a leader that I could ever imagine and yet people are captivated by his deception, just as if he was the devil himself. Never take responsibility, always blame others, and never take responsibility. Oh yeah, I already said that. In the age of instant information, everyone wants to be their own King, and certainly citizens will vote for the people in power who promise them the most from the public coffers.HE IS VERY GOOD AT THAT. Do nothing, don;t worry, we will take care of you. Or rather the working tax payers of this country will. Except we know that will never last, nor will it ever work. It is certainly not how our country was founded, but rather the opposite of the American Dream. It is the American Nightmare. We are becoming George Orwell's 1984, a people who soon will lose out on the liberties they have come to take for granted, by a Government who is intent on taking them all away to fulfill their narcissistic need for power. It is no longer a Government who works for the people, but rather who steps on the people. We are sheep, and we are expendable. Two parties fighting for power, not willing to give an ideological inch to reach compromise and do what's best for the people, but rather to lead us right into the abyss from reach there is no escape. I see the way these politicians act, and it sickens me. What type of role models are these people? Do they not know that they are elected by the people for the people? Instead, they lie about everything. They cheat about everything. They self aggrandize about everything. But they do absolutely nothing for the good of our country. When the Democrats walked out of Congress yesterday, to protest the Contempt of Congress charges being brought against Eric Holder, I ALMOST THREW UP. What if I taught my kid that whenever he doesn't get his way in life he should just quit? What type of man would he be? He should just take his ball and go home if he doesn't like the score of the game. What a mockery to our country and to the people who died fighting for our freedom and liberty. And what a disgrace to the deceased Border Patrol Agent Terry's family, who deserve the respect of finding out who was responsible for the botched operation that led to the the killing of their son. Those Congressmen and women should be ashamed and I pray that the American public will vote them out of office, the first chance they get, for their disrespectful act to what it means to an elected official in our country. They are a disgrace to our flag and to what we represent as a country. So, soon we will get to decide where we go as a country. This next election will determine not only our future, but the future of our children and grandchildren. The choice is a clear one. Some people still love this country and realize why we were great and want to return to what made us great. Limited Government, free enterprise, faith, family and values. Others seemingly hate what we stand for, and rather than simply moving to a different country that offers what all these people are looking for, they seem intent on bringing us down one way or another, to a path not yet traveled. It could get very ugly.Certainly it will not be a path that anyone of us who love this country will recognize.May the Grace of God keep us from finding out what it will look like.

This Is Your Wake Up Call America

6/26/2012

Oh the irony of politics. Today's historic Supreme Court ruling's may go down in history as one of the most ironic days of our country's history. The debate about Obamacare in this country has been nothing short of feverish on both sides and very divisive as a topic that will greatly affect the future of our Country. The liberal media has been fawning over the Supreme Court's ruling today to uphold Obamacare as a firm endorsement of his agenda and that he is in touch with the will of the American people. The irony of this whole decision was that they allowed it to stand under the auspices of being a tax on the American people, which Congress in fact has the power to do. But the Obama administration for over a year insisted in interview after interview that this was in fact not a tax on the American people, but rather a cost saving piece of legislation. Obviously the Supreme Court greatly disagreed with the spin that the Obama Administration put on this piece of faulty legislation. I believe that the majority of Americans are opposed to this health care law ( the polls say about 60% oppose it ) not because they don't realize that our health care system is broken and needs to be fixed, but because they believe it is a further encroachment of the Federal Government into the privacy of our lives and how we choose to live them. So I believe that this will clearly define what this Election in 2012 is all about. Do we want to steam roll down a path of Socialism where the Government becomes bigger and bigger and further encroaches on our individual liberties or do we want a return to the glory on which this country was founded and what made us great?  Do we want to be dependent on the God of this universe, who richly blessed this land and led us to be the richest Nation on earth or do we want to depend on the secular God of big Government, who will steal your liberties and the American Dream as quickly as we can blink an eye. Do we want to depend on the small business owner to create jobs and wealth for our families or on this food stamp President, whose policies are leading into the depths of despair. Do we want real hope that comes from restoring ourselves back to the values that made us great to begin with, namely faith, family and country or will we be content with the false hope and change of the Obama Administration that has led us to hopelessness in only 4 years and have left many with only change left in their pockets. The choice is now crystal clear and one more possible agent of blame for Obama's failed policies, in  this case the Supreme Court itself, has been removed. I was thinking this morning as I heard this  Supreme Court ruling how insane the reaction on the left would have been if this law would have been found unconstitutional. They would have been calling for the overthrow of the Court itself, claiming that they were activists, that they were racists, that they were fill in the blank. Now, the law stands on its own merits and the people get to decide in November if this is what in fact they want the America of future generations to look like. I remain hopeful that this will wake us up as a country to what this legislation and what this administration's policies will lead us to look like if we continue down the path that Obama is leading us. WAKE UP AMERICA! We were not founded based on the principles of Socialism, where they government tells us how to live, but on the principles of free market Capitalism, where the ones that work the hardest and chase their dreams are allowed to fulfill their destinies without Government interference, burdensome regulatory overreach and crippling high taxes. We fought for our freedom from the British because of high taxes and we will have to fight again to keep this country free from the tax policies of this administration. They believe in freely spending our children's and granchildren's future away with enormous debt and deficits brought on by their insatiable appetite to expand Government, and then expect us to continue to pay for their short term malfeasance through higher taxes. WAKE UP AMERICA. This administration wants to tell you how to live your life morally. They want to dictate to the Catholic Church that they must be required to provide birth control to their employees, even though they are diametrically opposed to this on a moral basis. Does any one see the separation of church and state in that? I sure don't! WAKE UP AMERICA! They want to give illegal aliens the right to free healthcare, free education and free food and have you pay for it, while at the same time failing to protect the borders of this country which they are Constitutionally required to do to protect your safety!. Does that seem like they care about what's best for  you as a US Citizen? I am all for the type of legal immigration this Country was founded on and that made our country so great. That requires a process that all of our ancestors had to go through, not just an edict handed down by a self-imposed Monarch, who skirts the political process at every opportunity to impose his will on the American people. He is like the whiny, spoiled brat kid that we all grew up with who when he doesn't get his way the first time, takes his ball home and ends the game so no one can play. He is a narcissistic dictator and we need to WAKE UP AMERICA to what his real agenda is. The radical hope and change that he campaigned on is becoming apparent for all to see: A complete and fundamental lack of respect for the history, the legislative process and the constitutional foundation of this country. He will stop at nothing short of trying to rewrite our history to fit his maniacal desire for self grandeur. We will not even recognize what that looks like through the lens of what America has stood for for our first 235 years. He apologizes for our country's past, bows down to foreign dignitaries and belittles the flag that represent the blood spilled for our freedom. It is revolting to see him apologize for what has been the greatest and most generous and giving country the world has ever known. Do we have flaws? Of course. Do we need to make changes as our Democracy progresses to make sure we are having compassion on all people of our land to the best of our ability? Yes. But do we need to feel guilty or remorseful in some way about our country's history as Obama would make you think? Absolutely not! Do we need to return to the glory that made us great, depending on God for our guidance and spiritual leadership as a nation, hard work for our prosperity and to the role of  limited government that our founding father's envisioned? Absolutely! WAKE UP AMERICA! Before it's too late!

Star Spangled Bannner

TheStarSpangledBannerasyouveneverheardit.wmv (1802KB)

On this blessed Memorial day when we pause to give thanks for those who paid the ultimate sacrifice for our freedom, this story about the real meaning behind the National Anthem gave me chills. To think that people were this brave and strong in their convictions brings tears to my eyes and hope to my soul that America may still be able to foster up this same spirit in the days and years ahead to save our country from the slippery slope of decline that we are now on. A great line from this message, with all due respect to our current President, was " What separates the American Chrisitan from the rest of the world is he would rather die standing on his feet, than live on his knees." May we never forget what our forefathers did and sacrificed for our freedoms, and may we never let them down during our time. Thank you for all that have come before me and all of our brave soldiers that sacrificed with the ultimate price so that I may be free.

God Bless America!

United Socialists of America

So here we are April 1st 2009 and I ask the rhetorical question that seems appropriate for today, " does anyone else feel like a fool?" I mean the country that I love seems to be slipping away so fast and I feel completely frustrated to not be able do anything about it. Common sense seems less and less common with every passing day. The government is now firing CEO'S of large American Corporations because of their need to place blame somewhere because of their own mismanagement, and the treasury is in the process of burying my children and grandchildren with enermous piles of debt from which they will likely never be able to crawl out of. I heard it stated the other day, that by 2019, ten years from now, if we continue on the same course we are on and account for the cost of social security and medicare, that we will have a deficit of $59 trillion dollars. That my friends is the definition of bankrupcy. What the hell is going on here anyway? Or as the song from the 60's so eloquently put it " Stop children, what's that sound, evererybody look what's going down." I 'll tell you what's going down and that is the future of our Country as we all knew it. Notice I used the past tense, because it may be too far gone already to save it without furthering raising the taxes on all of us cash strapped citizens who are already paying way too much into the public coffers to pay for our bloated government's excessive appetite to spend and entitle. With every increase in the percentage of income that hard working Americans must turn over to our government to help pay for their addiction to spend, we the populace loose a little bit more of our freedom and liberty that made our country great. I get the feeling though that we are one more tax hike away from a total rebellion in this country of the people against the government. You can feel the pinnings of social unrest everywhere you go, or don't go these days. After all, the internet is quickly turning out to be the fomenting machine of anarchy and unrest and you don't even have to leave your home to start an uprising of hatred of the system ( see the events at the G-20 meetings today in London for proof ) or just plain hatred in general towards whatever it is that you may disagree with. It used to be that we had civilized dialogue in most of the world to discuss our disagreements or various points of view, but now we just put out the word on the internet for hooliganism and other forms of radical protest to get out our viewpoint and thousands or more people show up on command, as if robotically programmed, to execute the called for action. What a great tool that is, ESPECIALLY FOR GROUPS LIKE JIHADISTS AND ANARCHISTS, THAT WANT NOTHING MORE THAN TO SEE THE WORLD BROUGHT TO ITS KNEES WITH SUFFERING AND VIOLENCE. Our Founding Fathers must be rolling over in their graves to see how the 1st Amendment right of freedom of speech is now being used on the internet as a means of destruction, rather than the liberty to be heard they thought they were providing to all people. The proof is everywhere that the end result of the economic tsunamai that the world is facing will be wide spread social unrest and conflict, as the predators prey on the carcass of the world's underbelly and point to this collapse as a global failure of all governments to regulate a system full of corruption and greed. There will be propaganda campaigns and media disception used to further unholy causes that will test the world's collective moral compass to avoid falling into the abyss. We can only pray that we as Americans can rise once again to the challenges that threaten not only a generation, but an orderly world, whereby we once again lead by example and prove to be a beacon of light, a shining star that the rest of the world can count on to bring about the tomorrow of our dreams, for ourselves and our next of kin. To get there is going to require all of the characteristics that we were founded on, but which have been sorely missing of late. Patience, perserverance, sacrifice and hard work must be accompanied by perspective, vision and faith as a starting point from which we can begin to re-emerge as the greatest nation on earth. Do we have the leadership and inestinal fortitide to tackle all of the challenges that we face? Only time will tell. The stakes could not be any greater.

What goes down, must go back up, right?

Whatever is ailing us right now and slowly eroding the basic foundations of our econmy will surely pass right? Isn't that the way it always happens? America is great because we are so resilient and we always find a new and better way to do things, to become more productive, to refocus coming out of periods like the one we are currently experiencing and that is what gives us eternal optimism. But what if things are different this time? What if our debt levels are simply to high, our dollar simply unable to handle all of the trade imbalances that we've allowed to exist for too long, our moral standards bankrupt, our governments unable to effectively govern and provide basic services due to huge deficits? Thomas Jefferson said a few things back in his day which are red flags for the way we are being governed right now that point to a very tough road ahead. He said "It is incumbent on every generation to pay its own debts as it goes. A principle which if acted on would save one-half the wars of the world." Boy is our generation failing miserably at this tenant and we setting our next generation up for many more wars just to get us out of the mess that we've created in the last 10 years or so. He also said " My reading of history convinces me that most bad government results from too much government." Well here we are with government now sticking their nose in almost every major industry in America trying to find a way to nationalize or at least socialize all of the losses that we have recently incurred due to bad management. Rather than letting the natural cycles of capitalism take their course, and realizing that some cycles are much more painful than others, where excesses need to be cleaned out of the system, the government has decided that we are to be capitalists on the way up when things are going well and socialists on the way down, when we must bail out every company or industry who has ever made bad decisions that have lead to their demise.

Read this modern parable and tell me that you are not really scared that this time we have gone too far and really put ourselves in a position from which we may not be able to recapture what made our economy and country great.

A MODERN PARABLE ....A Japanese company ( Toyota ) and an American company (Ford) decided to havea canoe race on the Missouri River. Both teams practiced long and hard to reach their peak performance before the race.On the big day, the Japanese won by a mile. The Americans, very discouraged and depressed, decided to investigate the reason for the crushing defeat. A management team made up of senior management was formed to investigate and recommend appropriate action.Their conclusion was the Japanese had 8 people rowing and 1 person steering, while the American team had 8 people steering and 1 person rowing.Feeling a deeper study was in order, American management hired a consulting company and paid them a large amount of money for a second opinion. They advised, of course, that too many people were steering the boat, while not enough people were rowing. Not sure of how to utilize that information, but wanting to prevent anotherloss to the Japanese, the rowing team's management structure was totally reorganized to 4 steering supervisors, 3 area steering superintendents, and1 assistant superintendent steering manager. They also implemented a new performance system that would give the 1 person rowing the boat greater incentive to work harder. It was called the 'RowingTeam Quality First Program,' with meetings, dinners, and free pens for therower. There was discussion of getting new paddles, canoes, and other equipment, extra vacation days for practices and bonuses. The next year the Japanese won by two miles. Humiliated, the American management laid off the rower for poor performance, halted development of a new canoe, sold the paddles, and canceled allcapital investments for new equipment. The money saved was distributed to the Senior Executives as bonuses and the next year's racing team was out-sourced to India. Sadly, The End. Here's something else to think about: Ford has spent the last thirty years moving all its factories out of the US, claiming they can't make money paying American wages. TOYOTA has spent the last thirty years building more than a dozen plants inside the US. The last quarter's results: TOYOTA makes 4 billion in profits while Ford racked up 9 billion in losses. Ford folks are demanding we give them our hard-earned money to keep the company going until they figure it out. IF THIS WEREN'T TRUE, IT MIGHT BE FUNNY. But now everything is going to be ok with the Auto industry because the government is going to come riding in on their white horse and save everything with another government bailout. But keep in mind that...

Back in 1990, the U.S. Government seized the Mustang Ranch Brothel in Nevada for tax evasion and, as required by law, tried to run it.

They failed and it closed.

Now, you are trusting the economy of your country and 700 Billion Dollars to a pack of nit-wits who couldn't make money running a whore house and selling booze.

Now if that doesn't make you nervous, I’m not sure what does ? For Thomas Jefferson also said, "My reading of history convinces me that most bad government results from too much government." He went on to say that "I predict future happiness for Americans if they can prevent the government from wasting the labors of the people under the pretense of taking care of them." We need to take a hard look at how we are being governed before it is too late. For the fate of our democracy rests in our hands and we are called to act to take it back before it is too late. We need to insist that our politicians start enacting laws that take the power out of their hands and put it back into the hands of the people. We need to elect officials who share this belief. We need to fire those who don't. We have many elected officials in Washington today who have become intoxicated with power and forgotten who they serve. We have seen what happens when the government gets out of control in size and spending and the results aren't pretty. I say it is time to start a reformation to change the democracy back into what it was supposed to be. To have it return to what great Americans such as Thomas Jefferson intended it to be. To what it used to be. Not socialism, but true capitalism, without government interference. Before it is too late.

Political Correctness

These are the so true, they hurt. I don't know whether sometimes I should laugh or cry. Anyway, we are living in the time of political correctness, and even when that makes no sense, the following jokes do:

Kentuckians, Tennesseans and West Virginians will no longer be referred to as'HILLBILLIES.'
You must now refer to them as
APPALACHIAN-AMERICANS .
And furthermore...

HOW TO SPEAK ABOUT WOMEN AND BE POLITICALLY CORRECT:

1. She is not a 'BABE' or a 'CHICK' - She is a' BREASTED AMERICAN.'

2. She is not 'EASY' - She is
'HORIZONTALLY ACCESSIBLE.'

3. She is not a 'DUMB BLONDE' - She is a
'LIGHT-HAIRED DETOUR OFF THE INFORMATION SUPERHIGHWAY.'

4. She has not 'BEEN AROUND' - She is a
'PREVIOUSLY-ENJOYED COMPANION.'

5. She does not 'NAG' you - She becomes
' VERBALLY REPETITIVE.'

6. She is not a 'TWO-BIT HOOKER' - She is a
' LOW COST PROVIDER.'

HOW TO SPEAK ABOUT MEN AND BE POLITICALLY CORRECT:

1. He does not have a 'BEER GUT' - He has developed a
'LIQUID GRAIN STORAGE FACILITY.'

2. He is not a 'BAD DANCER' - He is
' OVERLY CAUCASIAN.'

3. He does not 'GET LOST ALL THE TIME' - He
' INVESTIGATES ALTERNATIVE DESTINATIONS.'
